The verdict in the trial of Mohamed and Hamdi, charged with “apostasy” and “spreading Christianity,” has still not been announced.
The hearing, initially planned for 22 May, was postponed without clear reasons. Although a verdict is expected soon, a date has not been set for the hearing.
The long wait and uncertainty increases the stress on those detained. Additionally, Hamdi has not been well.
Mohamed, Hamdi and other Somali Christians request continued prayer:
- That those still detained will continue to experience God’s closeness and strength
- For Hamdi’s health, that she will recover soon.
- That ongoing advocacy efforts will bear fruit
- For God’s intervention; that the court will decide soon in favour of the defendants
