PRAYER REQUEST: Outreach team attacked in Central Sudan
2007-05-03
Our prayers have been requested by Egyptian and Sudanese Christians following an incident in the Nuba Mountains region of central Sudan.

A mission team comprising Egyptians, Sudanese from Khartoum and local believers were ambushed last Thursday (26th). They were travelling at night having shown the Jesus film in a village near the town they were staying. Four people were killed, one Egyptian and three local believers. Several others were wounded. Their injuries are not considered life threatening.

There had been threats against the team, so this was probably religiously motivated.

The visiting team members were flown to Khartoum early on Saturday. A Christian counsellor experienced in post trauma support was available and cleared her diary for this week to assist the team.

Egyptian and Sudanese Christians supporting this team request our prayers to Almighty God that:

    * Those who are physically wounded will recover fully
    * All involved will recover psychologically
    * Others in Sudan will know the presence of Jesus and the guiding of the Spirit in planning and conducting ministry across Sudan
    * Those who watched the Jesus film will come to know God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit
