Mauritania: Prayer Requests

Praise and Prayer

    * Pray that oil proves to be a blessing, not a source of evil, and that the benefits are shared amongst all the people, not just a few
    * Pray for the resumption of democratic civilian rule and that the whoever holds political power will act for the benefit of all citizens
    * Praise for good partnership amongst local and expatriate Christians
    * Pray that various Human Rights treaties would be signed and/or adhered to
    * Pray that economic and general social conditions will improve for the benefit of all Mauritanians
    * Pray for increased freedom of the press
    * Pray for Mauritania’s economy as it struggles to diversify away from overexploited resources
    * Pray for stability as the majority of the country’s population is forced to change from a nomadic to urban lifestyle
    * Pray for the return of refugees from Senegal, that they will be welcomed and that services such as education and health will be available for them
